TO: County of Hawaii - Councilmembers
I am firmly in opposition to selection of Zendo Kern for Planning Director. In voting for Mr.
Roth for our Mayor, I would have never thought he would select someone who is so blatantly
and outrageously compromised with conflict of interest and pro-development. I have not
seen any information, no facts that would convince me that this person is even qualified for
this important and impactful position. The only people that seem to be not opposed to this
selection are real estate agents and developers, who profit from developing and selling our
aina for money, that end-up in political campaigns. I urge all Councilmembers to vote "NO!"
for Zendo Kern; select someone who actually listens and cares for the people and the land for
which they are responsible for proper planning.
