Greetings and aloha in this challenging new year --
I have lived in Hamakua and Waimea for almost 50 years -- I am a homeowner and operate
a small business. I am writing to support Mitch Roth's appointment of Zendo Kern as
Director of the Planning Department. I understand some people's hesitation about this
appointment, but I also think Zendo has our best interests at heart . . he was born and
raised here, and he recognizes that the aina is precious. He brings a fresh perspective, which
is badly needed. Let's give him a chance!
I will not be able to watch the hearings on Tuesday, but I am hoping for the best for the
island we are privileged to call our home.
