RE: Letter Supporting Mayor Roth's Appointment of IKAIKA RODENHURST
as County of Hawaii Director of Public Works—Effective December 7, 2020
Aloha e Councilors:
I was delighted to meet lkaika Rodenhurst,at Councilor Tim Richards invitation,to introduce himself to
our Waikoloa Community Leadership Council members in our December meeting.
He presented himself as hitting the ground with his knowledge,was engaged and eager to learn about
Waikoloa Village concerns and briefly discussed the project start of much needed Lua Kula Street
repaving project which is now complete and a big improvement for our community.
I support lkaika Rodenhurst's administrative appointment by Mayor Roth, and look forward to working
with him and the Department of Public Works on our big infrastructure projects for Waikoloa
Community in the next year plus. We are excited to finally see our long awaited and much needed
attention to the intersection of Waikoloa Road/Paniolo Avenue/Pua Melia as well as the resurfacing
project of Paniolo Avenue come to fruition and soon. Both projects were approved and funded by
County Council in their last session.
Mahalo for your time, best of luck to Mayor Roth and his new administrative leadership ahead. I
respectfully request you approve the appointment of lkaika Rodenhurst as our new Director of Public
Works.
