Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Amy Self of Council District 2 to the Board of Ethics.
Ms. Self retired in 2019 after a fifteen-year career as a dedicated Deputy Attorney for the County
of Hawai'i, Office of Corporation Counsel, where she served as legal counsel for numerous
County Departments, Boards and Commissions.
Ms. Self earned her Law Degree from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, William S.
Richardson School of Law and is a member of both the Hawaii State and Hawaii County Bar
Associations. She is an avid supporter and current Treasurer of Hilo Bayfront Trails, Inc., and
former President of the YWCA. If confinned, she will serve a five-year term to end December
31, 2025.
