Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mattson Davis of Council District 7 to the Board of Appeals.
Mr. Davis has called Hawai'i Island home since March 1997. In that time, he has accumulated
over twenty-three years of experience in business and responsible development, as
Owner/Proprietor of Magics Beach Grill, Consultant/Managing Partner with Manim Holdings,
LLC, and Ulu Development, LLC and former President and CEO of Kona Brewing Company.
Mr. Davis is an active volunteer in our community, working with multiple agencies on the issues
of homelessness, as a former founding board member and chair of the marketing committee for
the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, and as past President of the Big Island
Chapter of the Hawai'i Restaurant Association. If confirmed, he will serve a 5-year term to end
December 2025.
