Project Engineer
A Project Engineer applies 'sound and diversified knowledge of engineering and practices in broad areas
of assignments and related fields. They make decisions independently on engineering problems and methods.
They work closely with clients, contractors, and third parties (including, but not limited to other consultants,
government agencies, utility companies, etc.) that are involved with projects.
Position requirements include (but not limited to):
• Ability to provide quality customer service and support
• Good time management skills, ability to balance demand amongst different projects
• Creative, persuasive, critical thinker, and must be aware of ethical issues of an engineer
Essential job functions:
• Ensure projects are on schedule and within budget
• Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, and third parties involved with the projects (including, but not
limited to other consultants, government agencies, utility companies, etc.)
• Coordinate project and schedule updates
• Workforce scheduling
• Coordinate field inspectors and ensure they have all pertinent information
• Perform work site visits, field measurements, and maintain logs
Construction Management
Encompasses the following services:
• Construction planning, coordination, and construction oversight
• Project scheduling, cost control, and estimating
• Constructability review and value engineering
• Claim analysis
• Project documentation and closeout
• Special inspection services
Direct Supervision

SCOPE: Construction Management Services for resurfacing and reconstruction of existing roadway
pavement, installation of shared use path, installation of drainage improvements, and relocation of
existing trees and fence.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector and administrative assistant. Coordinate with HECO, HTEL,
Oceanic Time Warner Cable (OTWC), Board of Water Supply (BWS), Department of Environmental

ROLE: Project Engineer
SCOPE: Construction Management Services for roadway improvements along Kalaeloa Boulevard,
OR&L Railroad to Lauwiliwili Street (Mauka). Roadway improvements included widening and
reconstructing the existing four lane roadway to six lanes, installation of sewer, storm drain and water
utilities, curb, gutter, sidewalk, streetlight, new striping, roadway, landscaping and new traffic signals at
Lauwiliwili.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector and administrative assistant. Coordinate with HECO, HTEL,
OTWC, Tesoro, BWS, DES, DOH, DOT, Arborist Consultant, DFM, DDC, DPP, DTS, Designer, and
Contractor.
PROJECT COST: $5,400,000 (FHWA Funded)

Preservation Strategies and Surface Treatments at Various Locations (Hawaii County) 2018-2020
ROLE: Project Engineer
SCOPE: Construction management services for the resurfacing and reconstruction of existing roadway pavement.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector, engineer, and administrative assistant. Coordinate with DOT and
Contractor.
State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation - Highways Division, Installation of Enhanced Pavement
Marking and New Milled Rumble Strip at Various Locations (Hawaii County) 2018-2020 .

SCOPE: Construction management services for the removal and installation of pavement striping, marking, and
rumble strips.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector, engineer, and administrative assistant. Coordinate with DOT and

Event (Hawaii County) 2018-2020
ROLE: Project Engineer
SCOPE: Construction management support services for the repairs and maintaining project records for the
required repairs due to damages to the highways caused by reactions to the Kilauea Lava Event of 2018
(earthquakes, steam vents caused by underground lava tubes).

SCOPE: Construction management services for the resurfacing of existing roadway, reconstruction of
deteriorating existing pavement, replacement of guardrails, and repairing bridge expansion joints.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector. Coordinate with Department of Water Supply (DWS), HELCO, HTEL,
DPW, DOH, DOT, Designer, and Contractor.
PROJECT COST: $14,400,000 (FHWA Funded)

schools and offices across the State of Hawaii. Scope includes monitoring construction activities for contract
compliance, review submittals, and review general contractor project schedule for milestone compliance with the
school performance review project acceptance.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of engineers and administrative assistant. Coordinate with various schools staff,

State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation - Highways Division, Keaau-Pahoa Road Shoulder Lane
Conversion, Phase 2, Shower Drive Intersection Improvements (Puna, HI) 2017-2018
ROLE: Project Engineer
SCOPE: Construction management services for the resurfacing of existing roadway, reconstruction of
deteriorating existing pavement, replacement of guardrails, relocation of water system facilities and utility poles,
installation of pavement markings, striping, and signage, and installation of new traffic signal system.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector. Coordinate with DWS, HELCO, HTEL, DPW, DOH, DOT, Designer, and
Contractor.
City and County of Honolulu, Department of Transportation Services, Kapolei Parkway Urban Core 4A
(Kapolei, HI) 2013-2014
ROLE: Project Engineer
SCOPE: Construction Management Services for a new 4 -lane highway intersection, including installation
of all underground utilities.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector and administrative assistant. Coordinate with BWS, DTS, DOT,
DOH, DES, HECO, HTEL, OTWC, DPW, DPP, DDC, Designer, and Contractor.

City and County of Honolulu, Department of Transportation Services, Kapolei Parkway Urban Core 5
(Kapolei, HI) 2013-2014
ROLE: Project Engineer
SCOPE: Construction Management Services for the construction of a new roadway and modification of
existing roadway, including installation of all underground utilities and lighting. Project involved the
completion of the final segment of Kapolei Parkway, designed as a part of the Kapolei Urban Core master
plan. It joined the two previously constructed segments of the roadway, and spanned between Kama'aha
Avenue and Kamokila Blvd, a length of approximately 1800 ft. This was a long awaited project with much
anticipation from nearby residents because this roadway allowed for a direct path through the developing
town of Kapolei. The roadway was constructed on undeveloped land, and involved over 52,000 cubic

yards of material excavation work along with trenching work for multiple utilities. A new 66" drain line was
placed underneath the roadway to accommodate the increased amount of storm water through the area.
DUTIES: Direct supervision of inspector and administrative assistant. Coordinate with BWS, HECO,
HTEL, OTWC, DES, DFM, DPP, DDC, DOH, DOT, Designer, and Contractor.

State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation -Airports Division, HNL TMP Commuter, Phase III
(Apron, Vehicle Parking) (Honolulu, HI) 2011-2012
ROLE: Project Engineer
SCOPE: The project involves the construction of a loop road around a new 300 -stall parking lot,
tarmac striping, pedestrian walkways, relocation of security entrance access points, utility relocation,
traffic mitigation, and wayfinding signage.
DUTIES: Assisted in the design phase.
PROJECT COST: $11,700,000
