SUBJECT: Reports attendance of Council Members at the Vibrant Hawaii CEDS Action Plan
Meeting via Zoom on January 14, 2021
In accordance with HRS § 92-2.5(e), I am reporting the attendance of Council Members Susan
Lee Loy, Ashley Kierkiewicz, and myself at the Vibrant Hawaii CEDS Action Plan meeting that
took place on January 14,2021,via zoom. I leave it for you to determine if this report is necessary
as Council Member Lee Loy attempted to log on but never successfully joined the meeting.
However, her profile did show up as a participant and so I am submitting this report to maintain
the utmost level of transparency.
The Vibrant Hawaii CEDS Action Plan meeting was held to determine sub-group leads and
members to focus on sectors for economic development in our County that were identified as
priorities by the Vibrant Hawaii community. The initial portion of the meeting was used to
describe the action planning process and then members were separated into breakout groups to
convene discussions around their area of interest. The Council Members above did not
participate in the same break out groups.
HRS Section 92-2.5(e) provides that two or more members of a board, but less than a quorum,
may attend an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to official board business,
including a meeting of another entity, legislative hearing, convention, seminar, or community
meeting; provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively organized
for or directed toward members of the board. The section further provides that at the next duly
noticed meeting of the board, the board members shall report their attendance and the matters
presented and discussed that related to official board business.
