No. 65 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 9:01 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 65, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 65, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated December 22, 2020, <br /> submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the nomination of Riley Smith of Council <br /> District 9 to the Liquor Commission. <br /> Executive Assistant Pomaika'i Bartolome appeared in Hilo Chambers and introduced the nominee <br /> who appeared via zoom. The nominee responded to comments made during testimony and <br /> replied to inquiry made by several Council Members. <br /> Council Member Maile David noted that the application provided to Council is from 2018 when <br /> the nominee applied for a seat on the Kailua Village Design Commission. Mr. Smith confirmed <br /> that is he is applying for a position on the Liquor Commission. Several Council Members <br /> commented in favor of the nominee's appointment.
