Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety, to which was referred
Communication No. 82, reports as follows:
Communication No. 82, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated January 6, 2021,
submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the reappointment of George Sheridan of
Council District 2 to the Veterans Advisory Committee.
Executive Assistant Pomaika`i Bartolome was present at Council Chambers in Hilo and
introduced the nominee. Due to technical difficulty, the nominee was not able to connect via
zoom Chair Inaba stated that Mr. Sheridan will need to appear at Council for confirmation.
Pursuant to Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-61 of the Hawaii County Code, members of the
Veterans Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council.
Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent
of Communication No. 82 and recommends confirmation of the appointment of George Sheridan to
the Veterans Advisory Committee.
