Regarding the appointment of Zendo Kern to planning director. Zendo is unqualified for this post by simply
looking at his resume. He also has a serious conflict of interest with a significant project that has
controversial components that is currently before the Planning Department. This project will affect all of
West Hawaii's future development and requires unbiased control from the Planning department from an
impartial Director. This will result in constant bad press and reflect directly on the entire council if Zendo is
making controversial decisions in favor of his recent boss. Please avoid this by rejecting this appointment
and appointing a qualified, impartial, free of conflicts, planning Director.
