RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW PLANNER V
POSITION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management is in
need of a Planner V position to assist in identifying areas of growth and
development and laying out master plans for sewer collections systems,
wastewater treatment plants and solid waste facilities island wide; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii was awarded federal funding from
the United States Department of Commerce Economic Development
Administration to provide partial funding for this position; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter
states that the Mayor has �.he power to "Create positions... for which
appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that one (1) Planner V, SR -24, position be created in the Hawaii
County Department of Environmental Management.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of the Mayor and the Departments of Finance,
Environmental Management and Human Resources.
