A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF SIX (6) INTOXILYZER 8000 BREATH TEST
INSTRUMENTS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the County of Maui Police Department is donating six (6) Intoxilyzer
8000 Breath Test Instruments to the County of Hawaii Police Department; and
WHEREAS►, the Intoxilyzer 8000 Breath Test Instruments, valued at $42,000, will be
used to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the units already placed in nine locations
within Hawai `i County; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, ►3ection 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS►, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now,
th crefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Ar►.icle XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
ffiwai`i, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Tivoli S. Faaumu, Chief of Police, Maui Police Department, 55 Mahalani
Street, Wailuku, HI 96793.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Police Departmem., the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
