A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF SIX (6) INTOXILYZER 8000 BREATH TEST INSTRUMENTS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the County of Maui Police Department is donating six (6) Intoxilyzer 8000 Breath Test Instruments to the County of Hawai‘i Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Intoxilyzer 8000 Breath Test Instruments, valued at $42,000, will be used to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the units already placed in nine locations within Hawai‘i
County; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, , in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Tivoli S. Faaumu, Chief of Police, Maui Police Department, 55 Mahalani Street, Wailuku,
HI 96793.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Police Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
