RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR AUTOMATIC ELECTRONIC DEFIBRILLATORS FOR
THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into a multi-year maintenance agreement for five (5) years, for thirty-three (33) automatic electronic defibrillators (AEDs) and twelve
(12) onsite AEDs for the Hawai‘i County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, annual maintenance will include periodic inspections, inventory tracking, replacement of batteries/pads, periodic testing and documentation of data, debriefing and data download
after AED use and refresher/re-certification training,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year maintenance agreement for thirty-three (33) AEDs for the Hawai‘i County Police Department.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Police Department, and the Finance Department.
