A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ALOHA ‘ῙLIO RESCUE
TO SUPPORT ITS SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Aloha ‘Ῑlio Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce the rate of euthanasia and overpopulation of homeless dogs on the Big Island; and
WHEREAS, Aloha ‘Ῑlio Rescue provides animal adoptions, education programs, foster homes, and outreach on the importance of spaying and neutering pets; and
WHEREAS, Aloha ‘Ῑlio Rescue is requesting funds for spaying and neutering, microchips, vaccines, veterinary care, and food to help with its spay and neuter program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this program, which falls within its community-building initiative to collaborate with community-based organizations to balance
economic, social, health, and environmental priorities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide
a grant to Aloha ‘Ῑlio Rescue for its spay and neuter program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
