No. 95 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 9:30 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Governmental Operations, Relations, and Economic Development, to which was referred Communication No. 95, reports as follows: Transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, via Communication No. 95, dated January 13, 2021, submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the appointment of Ms. Kelly Valenzuela of Council District 9 to the Board of Ethics. Ms. Pomaika`i Bartolome, Executive Assistant to Mayor Roth, introduced Ms. Valenzuela stating that she was grateful for Ms. Valenzuela's willingness to serve her community and highlighting her hard work, reliability and passion for helping others. Ms. Valenzuela was present and thanked the committee for allowing her to attend in person. She noted her years of volunteerism and highlighted her time serving on the County Board of Appeals. Chair Kimball let the nominee know that she does not have to appear in person at Council for confirmation. If confirmed, Ms. Valenzuela will serve a five-year term to end December 31, 2022.
