COUNTY OF HAWAI `I RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII 44 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ALOHA `ILIO RESCUE FOR ITS RESCUE AND ADOPTION PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce overpopulation and the rate of euthanasia of neglected and homeless dogs on Hawaii Island; and WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue provides animal adoptions, education programs, foster homes, and outreach on the importance of spaying and neutering pets; and WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue is requesting funds for expenses associated with its rescue and adoption program, including spaying, neutering, microchips, vaccines, veterinary care, and food to support its ongoing efforts to save animals from euthanasia; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project, which falls within its community -building initiative to collaborate with community-based organizations to balance economic, social, health, and environmental priorities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Aloha `Ilio Rescue for its rescue and adoption program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
