COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII 4S 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ALOHA `ILIO RESCUE TO SUPPORT ITS DOG RESCUE PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilia Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce the rates of euthanasia and overpopulation of neglected and abandoned dogs on Hawai'i Island; and WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue encourages adoption, foster programs, spay and neuter opportunities, and provides community education and outreach as efforts to address the overpopulation of pets; and WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue has requested funds to assist with veterinarian care, spay and neuter costs, microchips, and maintaining its food supply in order to support its ongoing efforts relating to its dog rescue program; and WHEREAS, this project falls within the Department of Research and Development's mission to support the development of a local economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance with Hawai'i's ecology, community, and culture; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment,, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Aloha `Ilio Rescue to support its dog rescue program; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transferred/appropriated the following amount as set forth below:
