To Hawaii County Council members:
I
My wife and I have owned a home on the Kohala Coast for 15 years, and had vacationed on the Big Island since the 1980's. '
Although we are presently legal residents of California,we have felt like kamaaina for a long time. We helped launch , and have
heavily supported and fund raised for the Waimea Ocean Film Festival, Have contributed in excess of$100,000 to the North Hawaii
Community Hospital, have contributed to food programs for pandemic-caused unemployed hotel personnel, Parker School,
underprivileged kids summer camp and probably other worthy activities which I cannot call to mind.We don't like the punitive 23% I
tax hike and think it is ill-advised. But we are ohana and we have not ceased to invest in the well being of this island which we love. If
the current bill passes we commit to invest at least 100/of the rolled back tax to local charities.
Respectfully, Irwin and Concepcion Federman
