I am writing to submit testimony as a proponent of Bill 18. I am on the board of two non-profits and Bill 18 could
have a profound positive impact on the donations we receive, that would in turn benefit our community. Recently,
we've been hearing from folks that the two tier tax is not representative of the proportion of county services used by
the affected population. Amending the two tier tax with this bill could not only encourage those who have previously
and are not now giving to local non profits, but it could encourage new part time residents to take an interest in our
Hawaii non profits and begin investing in our organizations that serve important missions in our community.
