ABSTRACT
Bill 18, sponsored by Councilman Aaron Chung,would allow property owners to write
off that $2,50 extra tax if one provides proof of a donation of the same amount to a
recognized 5o1(c)3 nonprofit to the benefit of Hawaii County residents or homelessness
initiaves.
Support
As a long time, property owner at the Mauna Kea Resort campus, but not a resident on
the island, our family applauds the efforts of Councilman Chung and lends our support
to this creative means to delivery dollars directly to organizations that serve the
communities on the island that simply do not have enough.
We urge the Council's Finance Committee hearing on Tuesday, February 2nd to take an
affirmation position and then incite its general council to approval such legislation.
