I am in support of Support for Resolution 35-21 to create a jobs corps program to address unemployment
impacts of COVID-19 and our current employment crisis in our communities.
As a sole proprietor, I know very well of the difficulty to sustain a steady income while being impacted
during this pandemic. I see more and more community members go without jobs and also close up their
because there is not enough economic support to keepthings afloat and alive. A part of that
businessesg pp
reason is that the community does not have enough access and education of employment opportunities
throughout the island. Staffing companies, such as Altres Staffing, are great but fail to realize that not
having a job can be embarrassing and that people need employment empowerment and a little privacy to
be able to find jobs worthy of their skills.
