RE: Support for Resolution 35-21
Dear Chair Kierkiewicz,Vice-Chair Keohokapu-Lee Loy, and Committee Members:
I am writing this letter in strong support of Resolution 35-21, which urges Hawai`i County to
establish a Jobs Corps Program to help address the unemployment impacts of the COVID-19
Pandemic to support economic diversification.
As the Chair of the House Committee on Economic Development, I have prioritized advocating
for legislation that will revitalize and diversify our State's economy during this pandemic while
still addressing our sustainable goals. This resolution facilitates a necessary partnership between
the State and County of Hawai`i to realize these aspirations and empower the next generation of
kama`aina to stay home and contribute to preserving our State's natural beauty.
We applaud Chair Kierkiewicz for her foresight to introduce this resolution and look forward to
a productive partnership with the Chair and Hawai`i County in creating a stronger, more robust
Hawai`i economy.
Respectfully,
Sean Quinlan
State Representative of House District 47
