Good morning Chair David and members of the Council. -;_

My name is Dennis "Fresh" Onishi, former council member for-
District 3 and I'm speaking on PC-2, Communication 44 the
appointment of Zendo Kern as Planning Director.
Mr. Kern and I served on the Council for 1 term (2010 to 2012)
and we believed in him as our Chair of the Planning Committee.
I will speak to you as a former council member. During my 8
years on the council, I was always told- I cannot interpret ret the Y p
law to how I want to see it. If I do, I could be liable for the
actions I took.
Also, as council members, you need to have trust in Mayor Roth
in making the right choices for the people of the Big Island.
I as for your vote to approve Zendo Kern to be our next
Planning Director.
