Aloha Council Members,
1 have been watching the long process of the appointments of Planning Director, Public Works, and Leeward
Planning.
Then only to see the front page of West Hawaii Today Jan. 27, 2021, former Mayor Billy Kenoi,
Frustrated with a mistake made on construction, ...FIRED THREE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
ENGINEERS ON THE SPOT. AS IT TURNED OUT, HE DIDN'T HAVE AUTHORITY TO FIRE. THE
UNION PROTECTED WORKERS, AND EVENTUALLY THEY ALL CAME BACK.!
These positions are important; they will guide and dictate development, future of now and the next generation.
The word "COLLUSION"..comes to mind. Connection with developers, unions, as well as inside government.
Meaning" Collusion is a non-competitive, secret, and sometimes illegal agreement between rivals which attempt
to disrupt the market's equilibrium. The act of collusion involves people or companies which typically compete
against one another, but who CONSPIRE TO WORK TOGETHER TO GAIN AN UNFAIR MARKET
ADVANTAGE."
If your decision is IFFY ( ?), and think you can give them a chance, if not the Mayor can fire this person.
This is alarming when I saw this on the front page. So I wanted to bring it to your attention.
Please vote for persons who look out for the Public. Reminder, Council members were Voted by the People who live
here.
We need to first and foremost take care, Malama our Aina. Not about Quantity, but the Quality of living.
We do not need another Waikiki, many of us ran away from Honolulu seeking a better life to raise a family. OHANA
IS FIRST.
As it is Hawaii especially the Big Island is sought out by Huge Developers with lots of KALA $.
They don't live here, and treat our land as a commodity $.
Driving the price of real estate UP $ as well as taxes $ whereby, how will our grandkids be able to afford to hang on
to real estate.
I'm a Kanaka Ma'oli, and Kupuna, I grew up in Waikiki riding horses in Kapiolani Park. I have first hand witnessed
the OVER DEVELOPMENT! •
