Once again, I am emailing council representatives to express my opposition to Zendo Kern's appointment
as County Planner. I appreciate and am grateful for the opposition already expressed at meetings by
numerous council members and encourage continued opposition to his appointment.
He is lacking qualifications recommended by our Hawaii County Charter and what I would expect of a
person leading such an important department as Hawaii County Planner.
Mr. Kern's participation with Richard Wheelock and his two partners of KVC LLC and Kona Three LLC
(development companies) of over $10,000 to Mayor Roth's Campaign Fund indicates glaring conflicts of
interest and integrity for this position.
