I Just wantto share as a e an innerld growing tube from Ohuaiu was St eetbin WaikikiUur Oahu was clea right o Kuhio Beac •Driving from nd not over developed, ,We coulddrid Kaneohe to Honolulu Town was awesome.When we went over the Pall to Honolulu To n you could see the Ocean as well as the Aloha Tower and the Dole Pineapple on Nimitz Highway.You c.uld see from Diamond Head to Ewa Beach, Today you can't see any of that any more.Your view toda is Hlghrise's and Gated Communities with so many KEEP OUT SIGNS. Many Locals have been having o relocate because of affordabilityto live in Honolulu. Many Longtime Resident of Oahu have relo.'ted to the Outer Islands and many young folks have moved to the Mainland. I dont want to see w at happen to Honolulu and Maul happen here in the so-called name of Progress. As a resident of Hawaii Island since 2005 I can already see the changes in the Volcano a ea as well as - Hilo Town,Traffic Is increasing daily and things are changing rapidly. I don't want to see this happen to Hawaii Island and I write to you to ask that you plea reconsider Mn , Zendo Kern to the Position of Planning Director for the County of Hawaii. i feel with his .ringing up on Hawaii Island he understands the Importance of the Position he was appointed to by M:yor Roth.I feel that He has much Aloha for his Island Home and does Materna the island.As a Business Owner himself i feel he will bring much knowledge to the Planning Department. His Expertise I feel Is m,re than any College Deree could ever accomplish. His knowledge of Our Island Home is over and beand and he does not seem like the type to bend for Big Developers and pushing Permits through ju t to Accommodate a Developer and the all-mighty dollar, This is unprecedented times and I think we all need to reanalyze every process and pro edure in this space and time and not on some prior formula of process.Things are changing rapidly nd we need to readjust,We need to all come together as we all know deep In our naau that the Virus a have all been dealing with this last year is not over. Many of Us have lost loved ones to the Virus and ow we all face this mutating virus that continues to Travels around the World.We all know that the V•ccines they just developed do not Stop these new mutated Could-19 Virus. In light of all this i would II.a to ask the County Council to Please Reconsider Mr. Kerns Appointment to Planning Director and t. at least afford him the chance to show you what he Is capable in that Position of doing. As island Folks we are so Unique to the World and Our needs as Island,People. I feel th t given the Chance and Opportunity Mr.Zendo Kern will be an Asset to Our Planning Department •s well as Our Island Communities and Our People.
