Aloha!
I am a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama Campus and a first-generation
college graduate.
My career is centered home here in Kona as I raise together with my husband, our young
family two daughters.
Opportunities to higher education access really shape a community. After decades and
decades, West Hawaii is proud to say we have our community college. HCC Palamanui is a
gem, built with kokua from the project in front of you today.
Palamanui did what it said it was going to do. They put forward $22 million dollars to help
make HCC Palamanui a reality for all of us. Thirty or forty years from now we can again
proudly look back and know that it was a good thing to work with Palamanui to build a
community. Just like the decades and decades before when we waited for the college.
Let's be visionary and find a way for Palamanui to move forward.
