Dear Chairman Medeiros and members of the County Council,
I am writing in support of the request for zoning condition
amendments by Palamanui. Six years ago, my daughter was badly
in need of more advanced classes than what could be offered by the
local high schools. Instead of continuing to be bored and dropping out,
these developers, through the construction of Hawaii Community
College at Palamanui, provided her with the opportunity to take
college classes and obtain credits that were recognized by the
University of Michigan. Since then she has graduated with a 4.0 in
Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics, and will be
working for Medtronic. Palamanui made a huge difference in my
daughter's life. As a teacher, I am also impressed with their
preservation of the dry land forest and other historic sites. Please
honor their request as they consistently make decisions in
consideration of our community and our aina.
