Subject: Bills 10-11- Palamanui Development

Aloha Hawaii County Council members,
I urge you to support Bills 10 and 11 that would amend the zoning conditions imposed on the proposed Palamanui project in Kona.
These amendments will financially right size this project to make it viable.The overall landscape has changed significantly since these
conditions were imposed in 2007 and first amended in 2009.
The one constant about this project is completion of the Palamanui College campus. Palamanui Global Holdings contributed
approximately 22 million dollars towards the backbone infrastructure .The surrounding planned development hasn't moved forward
as quickly, which will negatively impact the future growth of the Palamanui campus.
I strongly believe there needs to be commercial, and residential hub, around this campus to make it successful going forward.These
areas will help spur college campus growth, and open up more public-private partnerships with surrounding businesses.
