RE: Palamanui LLC seeking approval from the County of Hawaii on
Proposed Amendment Project District Ordinance 09-132 to allow building a
community around Hawaii Community College.

Palamanui LLC has my support to build a community around the college, a
community where local residents can live, work, play. To include:

• Building a community around the college in phases,
• To develop 10 acres of the regional park and convey the
remaining 10 acres to the County. '
I applaud the project's vision to build a "University Village" around the
college, a community where local residents can live, work, play and of
course, ensuring long-term success for the community college at Palamanui.
It is clear that Palamanui LLC remains a committed community partner to
help shape Kona's future for generations to come. I understand over the past
few years, Palamanui LLC has worked closely with the County Design
Center in Kona addressing changes to the project's plans in alignment with
the Kona Community Development Plan requirements.
