TESTIMONY ON PC-6—NOMINATION OF MARK TRAVALINO TO THE LEEWARD
PLANNING COMMISSION
To Council Chair David,Vice Chair Chung and members of the Hawaii County Council:
Hawaii LECET is a labor-management partnership between the Hawaii Laborers' International
Union of North America,Local 368, its' 5000+members and its' 250+unionized contractors.
The Laborers' International Union of North America is the largest construction union in the
United States.
Mahalo for the opportunity to testify in support of PC-6,regarding the nomination of Mark
Travalino to the Leeward Planning Commission. Mr.Travalino has worked in the construction
industry for many years and has great institutional knowledge of permitting,land use policies and
development issues. He is also very committed to community service,having served on the
Hawaii Building Board of Appeals and Hawaii State Rehabilitation Council.
Hawaii LECET strongly supports Mr.Travalino's nomination to the Leeward Planning
Commission. His experience and knowledge of the intricacies involved in working in the
construction industry is invaluable and his commitment to community service is commendable.
