Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for a new multi-year lease agreement for two Class IV sized 4x4 Pickup trucks for the
Department of Environmental Management, Wastewater Division. These trucks will be
used to respond to island wide maintenance and emergency actions for wastewater
facilities. The cost for the equipment will be approximately $4,600 per month for 60
months.

Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for two (2) Class IV sized 4x4
Pickup trucks for a period of five (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management Wastewater
Division.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION JUSE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Wastewater Division is requesting to lease finance two (2) Class IV size 4x4 Pickup trucks for
respaiding to island wide maintenance and emergency actions for the Division's island -wide wastewater
facilities. The Division has very limited trucks that can transport four crew members plus supplies,
equipment, and portable trailers equipec with pumps/jetters all with one vehicle. Our current fleet of trucks
have very limited towing capabilities. Performing work in Kau (Pahala and Naalehu) and Honoka'a requires
multiple vehicles to transport equipment and supplies. These trucks also provide the capability to tow the
backup portable generators to pump staJons and WVVTPs when emergencies arise.
The p:archase price is estimated at $255,000.00 total. The estimated monthly lease payment is $4,600 for
both vehicles. This equipment will be lease financed such that the County will own the equipment at the end
of the five year lease.
Funding for these Class IV trucks were riot included in the FY20-21 budget. Delivery of the Trucks is not
expected until next fiscal year due to the long lead time for these work trucks.
