These funds will be used for the purpose of enhancing the firearms process by automating and streamlining the firearms registration process and improving record keeping and data availability. Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement to accept these funds. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $545,760 grant. The Hawai`i Police Department is requesting that this resolution andbill be waived from Finance Committee and be placed on the March 3, 2021 Council agenda to expedite the receipt of these funds.
