The Department of Environmental Management requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the March 3, 2021 Council agenda in order to expedite the request of State CIP funds to be released. REQUEST: Request to amend Ordinance 20-44, Capital Improvement Budget for FY2020-2021, to include appropriations for the following projects: Pahoa Feasibility Study —$500,000 from State CIP Puako Facilities Plan -$300,000 from County G.O. Bond/Other Puako Facilities Plan - $1,500,000 from State CIP B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The State has appropriated funds for a Wastewater Management/Treatment Plant Feasibility Study for Pahoa Project and a Clean Water for Reefs Puako Project under H.B. 1259. These State CIP appropriations require a 0 20/o match by the County. This request is to amend the FY20-21 Capital Improvement Budget to appropriate the State CIP funds anticipated and to appropriate the required match for the Puako project. There is an existing appropriation for the Pahoa project that will meet the required match for that project. We respectfully request that this bill be waived from Committee and placed on the next Council agenda in order to expedite a request for the State CIP funds to be released.
