STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 56 21 <br />RE'SOLUTION AUTHORIZ114G THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />IN -I -O AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY <br />G I <br />EiNERAL, HAWAVI CRIMINAL JUSTICE DATA CENTER PURSUANT <br />TO HRS 46-7, FOR A GRANT TO THE HAWAVI COUNTY POLICE <br />DEMPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii C:)unty Police Department wishes for the County to <br />enter into an agreement between the Department of the Attorney General, Hawaii <br />' <br />Criminal Justice Data Center and the County of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of the Attorney General, Hawaii Criminal Justice <br />Da -',:a Center has authorized funds through the National Instant Criminal Background <br />Chack Act Record Improvement Program to be provided to the Hawaii County Police <br />De?artment for the purpose of erhancing the firearms process by automating and <br />str(-.Aamlining the firearms registration process and improving record keeping and data <br />availability; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br />department: o obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br />or ;tate governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br />granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br />connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE 17 RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br />acc,ordance with section 46-7, Hc-.*iwai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of <br />HaNai'i is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related <br />
