HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 054 Draft 01 2020-2022A RESOLUTION TO AMEND SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 20-40 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 (B) BY CHANGING THE TITLE ADMINSITRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR AND THE LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR AND 7.01 (B) BY CHANGING THE NAME THE OFFICE OF THE LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR TO THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY AUDITOR AND ADMINSITRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR. WHEREAS, Section 3-13, Hawai`i County Charter, provides for interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance to be made by resolution; and WHEREAS, Salary Ordinance No. 20-40 lists the classes of work and compensation for persons employed by the County other than those whose pay is otherwise provided for; and WHEREAS, Section 3(B) and 7.01(B) of Salary Ordinance No. 20-40 sets the pay plan covering appointive executive/administrative positions and lists classes of work in Office of the Legislative Auditor; and WHEREAS, the Office of the Legislative Auditor has been renamed to the Office of the County Auditor as a result of the approval of November 3, 2020 County Charter amendment; and now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Section 3(B) and 7.01(B) of Salary Ordinance No. 20-40 be amended as follows: SECTION 3. Rate of Compensation. (A) There shall be a pay plan covering appointive executive/administrative positions. Employees occupying positions covered by this pay plan shall be paid at rates of compensation set forth by the pay grade assigned or salary fixed and established by section 7 of this ordinance or any amendatory resolution. (B) The salaries of the Executive Assistant to the Council Chairperson, Deputy Executive Assistant to the Council Chairperson, Legal Specialist, Administrative Assistant to the [Legislative] County Auditor, Special Assistant, Audit Analyst, Legislative Specialist, Council Aide, and Council Legislative Assistant of the Legislative Branch shall be at the following rates: The Council Chairperson may appoint employees to any of the steps within the appropriate pay grade and may authorize and approve any step movements along the appropriate pay grade; provided that sufficient appropriations have been made by the Council. The [Legislative] County Auditor may appoint an Administrative Assistant to the [Legislative] County Auditor to any of the steps within the AD pay grade and appoint Audit Analysts to any of the steps within the AU pay grade, and may further authorize and approve any step movements along those pay grades; provided that sufficient appropriations have been made by the Council. SECTION 7.00. That the compensation of positions in the classes of work listed below are hereby fixed and established as follows: Item Title Pay Grade Section 7.01(b) OFFICE OF THE [LEGISLATIVE] COUNTY AUDITOR. 1 Administrative Assistant to the [Legislative] County Auditor AD  2 Audit Analyst AU   BE IT FINANLLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the County Clerk, the Director of Finance and the Director of Human Resources.
