Hawail 96720 RE: Written Testimony for Resolution 42-21 Aloha County Council Members, I humbly ask for your support and, partnership, through your approval of Resolution 42-2-1,which would. allow Aloha Ilio Rescue to continue making a significant positive impact island-wide for our community and their canine companions. Your vote means everything, as you would be aiding a small nonprofit that, aims to reduce the rates of euthanasia and.overpopulation of neglected and.homeless dogs in Hawaii. Through rescue and community education we are able to decrease the number of dogs that fill shelters, while finding quality homes, and providing medical care to dogs in need. Equally important to our rescue efforts, is the privilege to maintain a platform in our conununity. We use this platform to educate people on the importance of population control, and.how spaying/neutering animals is a critical step to ensure the best health outcomes for our pets. (duality community education is a valuable tool that allows us to break the cycle of homelessness, neglect, and overpopulation. .Although our steadfast efforts continue during this unprecedented time, it goes without saying that the COVID-19 endemic has created a unique set of challenges for our organization. As we all attempt to navigate our new normal, we are experiencing an overall upsurge in rescued animals, and the demand for duality, reliable help has also increased.. Your support and. partnership would mean more than ever, allowing us to cover costs of necessities for our rescued animals. This would include food, vaccinations, medications, and access to veterinary care, especially to get animals spayed and neutered.. You would.also be allowing us to -use alternative platforms to reach our community. we may not be able to physically gather at the moment, but we want people to know that we are still here (even if virtually) to serve thein and the dogs who need us most. . 1 Rest assured that we are working diligently to continue providing unmatched care, and unlimited affection while these dogs await their well-deserved chance at a forever home. It is through the support from our community,-donors and.programs like the Hawaii County Council's Contingency Relief Fund.that we are able to continue our mission and change lives, one dog at a time. we truly appreciate your consideration, and hope that you will vote to support our program. Should you have any questions, conarnents,or ideas to improve our efforts, please feel free to call me at(SOS) 936-7955. In Partnership and Rescue, Daylynn Kyles, President
