Ja COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII s= RESOLUTION NO. 60 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND LGBTQ PRIDE FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH. WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for our diverse community to gather together and to partner with other community organizations to produce year-round events, such as its annual Pride Parade and Festival; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride also conducts educational outreach to LGBTQ youth at public events and through partnerships with teachers; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride is requesting funds for educational materials and age-appropriate classroom resources to distribute to teachers upon request as well as supplies for children's activities at public events; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports alcohol -free and drug-free community events and programs that improve the well-being of our youth; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride for expenses related to its educational outreach. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
