SUBJECT: Request for presentation by Department of Environmental Management
By means of this communication I am respectfully requesting a 20-minute, high-level
presentation by the Department of Environmental Management regarding the concern of
wastewater on Hawaii Island. This presentation is being requested to include public vs.private
sewer systems,the ongoing coastline concerns of Puako, Alii Drive, and Keaukaha, and other
county or private wastewater facilities or potential facilities island-wide,wherein budgetary
factors are evident and must be considered prior to the upcoming budget process and prior to any
identified masterplan. This presentation would be followed by a 25-minute discussion.
I humbly request that this matter be referred to the appropriate committee for its March 16,2021
