RE: Request for Approval to Retain (Same) Outside Counsel To Represent The
County of Hawaii In Further Opioid Litigation
Pursuant to Hawaii County Charter § 6-5.5, the Office of the Corporation Counsel
respectfully requests the County Council place the above matter on its March 17,2021 agenda
for the purpose of hiring special counsel to assist our office with the above-referenced case.
And, pursuant to HRS § 92-5(a)(4), we request an attorney-client confidential discussion
in executive session on March 17, 2021 to consult with the County Council on matters
pertaining to the above-referenced ongoing litigation.
