COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />G9 21 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOMELESS TASK <br />FORCE FOR ITS OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS. <br />WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br />is to decrease the number of homeless living on the streets in West Hawaii by offering <br />temporary and permanent housing, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and family reunification; and <br />WHEREAS, outreach and engagement are essential services toward Homeless Task <br />Force's ultimate goal to decrease homelessness and guide the un -housed population to safe <br />haven options of housing and drug and alcohol rehabilitation; and <br />WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force has requested financial assistance for expenses <br />associated with its outreach and engagements services, which include fees for acquiring birth <br />certificates and personal identification, as well as purchasing trash bags, gloves, and light <br />refreshments for community clean-up events with homeless individuals; and <br />WHEREAS, the mission of the Office of Housing and Community Development is to <br />support the development of viable communities in Hawai'i County by providing decent housing, <br />suitable living environments, and expanding economic opportunities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing <br />and Community Development to provide a grant to Homeless Task Force for its outreach and <br />engagement efforts. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
