Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my honor and pleasure to nominate Debra Lewis to the Veteran's Advisory Committee.
Colonel Lewis served 34 years in the United States Army as an Engineer, retiring as a Colonel.
She is an active community service member, having dedicated her life so far to helping our
Veterans as Chair of the Veterans Day Parade for 7 years. She is currently the Senior Vice
Commander for VFW Post 3830 Pahoa and the Department of Hawai'i. Colonel Lewis is the
Hawai'i Island Ambassador for the Military Women's Memorial located in Arlington, Virginia
and the representative for Hawai'i Island West Point Field Force for West Point Candidates.
Colonel Lewis graduated with her bachelor's degree in Science from West Point Military

holds a master's degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Science.
If confirmed, Colonel Lewis will represent the Veterans of Foreign Wars and serve a five-year
