A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOMELESS TASK FORCE
FOR ITS OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS.
WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to decrease the number of homeless living on the streets in West Hawai‘i by offering temporary and
permanent housing, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and family reunification; and
WHEREAS, outreach and engagement are essential services toward Homeless Task Force’s ultimate goal to decrease homelessness and guide the un-housed population to safe haven options of
housing and drug and alcohol rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force has requested financial assistance for expenses associated with its outreach and engagements services, which include fees for acquiring birth certificates
and personal identification, as well as purchasing trash bags, gloves, and light refreshments for community clean-up events with homeless individuals; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Office of Housing and Community Development is to support the development of viable communities in Hawai‘i County by providing decent housing, suitable living
environments, and expanding economic opportunities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing and Community Development to
provide a grant to Homeless Task Force for its outreach and engagement efforts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
