Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 52-21, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 52-21, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako via Communication No. 126
dated February 11, 2021, authorizes the payment of funds for a later fiscal year and of more than one
fiscal year for multi-year lease for a multi-year lease of one Closed Circuit Television(CCTV)truck for
the Department of Environmental Management.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an approximate
monthly cost of$9,600.
Council Member Heather Kimball asked for clarification as to whether this was to replace an existing
vehicle that can no longer be leased or if this was a whole new piece of equipment. Department of
Environmental Management Deputy Chief Engineer Eric Takamura replied by stating it is not a
replacement, it's a second CCTV truck to be used in West Hawai`i to fill an increasing need for this type
of vehicle. Work will be more efficient with a truck of this type for each side of the island.
Council Member Ashley Kierkiewicz wanted to note her support for the record.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 52-21, and
recommends its adoption.
