Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Steven Pavao of District 2 to the Salary Commission.
Mr. Pavao is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. He is currently employed with Hawaii Department
of Health and has served on the County of Hawai'i Redistricting Commission in 2001 and as
Chair on the Environmental Management Commission.
Mr. Pavao is the Hawai'i County Branch Chief for the Department of Health's Adult Mental
Health Division. He has volunteered with HGEA and served as the Big Island Region Director
for Hawai'i Pony baseball. He was a member of the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Hawai'i and
President of the Board for the Hawai'i Public Health Institute.
Mr. Pavao holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and a Master's of Arts in Human Resources
Development. If confirmed, Mr. Pavao will serve a full-term to end December 31, 2025.
