The Trust for Public Land strongly supports the appointment of Deborah Ward to the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural j
Resources Preservation Commission (PONC). Ms. Ward has a long and respected history of protecting the environmental,
natural, and cultural resources of Hawai'i Island. She is thoughtful, respectful, and always well prepared. We thank her for
being willing to serve on this volunteer Commission and urge the Council to confirm her appointment.
Mahalo for this opportunity to testify. I apologize that I will not be able to attend the hearing by Zoom due to scheduling
conflicts.
