Subject: Written testimony for Bill 25 of the County Council
We write today to urge the county council to take responsibilty fo the funds the state has made available and move
forward with the environmental assessment and preliminary design reviews of potential solutions for the sewer
system in Puako. Puako's marine reserve continues to deteriorate and we need action quickly. The community
has been working on this for more than 10 years and we desperately need to protect the Puako reef and its
waters. We swim in these waters every day and want our grandchildren to have the opportunity as well. Please
move forward to protect Hawaii's wonderful environment and protect it for decades to come.
