Council members,
I
We are the property owners of 69-1716 Puako Beach Drive, 944. While we are relatively new homeowners in our
beautiful neighborhood, we have been vacationing in Puako since 2010.
At that time, we were hearing about a new project to update the wastewater handling in Puako in order to preserve the
reef and surrounding waters. We read detailed material on the front porch of the General Store and it peaked an 3
interest as we hoped to eventually own a home here. Over the years, we have visited four more times and have always
heard tidbits about the project's development or lack thereof. Since purchasing our home last spring we have tried to
learn more about this project as we enjoy the beautiful shoreline of Puako. We have children who are amazed by
exploring the coast. I
We hope that by installing a wastewater treatment system for all of Puako that the shoreline and reef will have a
chance to heal and flourish.
Please support the advancement of this project and move the process along as quickly as possible to prevent another
ten year delay on accomplishing the right thing to do for the future of the reef and ocean.
