Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety, to which was referred
Communication No. 158, reports as follows:
Communication No. 158, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated February 19, 2021,
submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the appointment of Debra Lewis to the
Veterans Advisory Committee.
Executive Assistant Pomaika`i Bartolome was present at Council Chambers in Hilo and
introduced the nominee who also appeared in person.
Several::Council Memmbers:;spoke in favor of Ms. Lewis' appointment. Chair Inaba stated that
Ms. Lewis will not need to appear at Council for confirmation.
Pursuant to Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-61 of the Hawai`i County Code,members of the
Veterans Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council.
Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent
of Communication No. 158, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Debra Lewis to the
Veterans Advisory Committee.
